Do I Really Need “Medical-Grade” Skin Care?
Not necessarily. Store bought products can be excellent, and a higher price does not always mean better quality. What matters most is choosing proven ingredients that are appropriate for your skin.
You also do not need a complicated ten-step routine. Start with these essentials:
Gentle cleanser, good moisturizer, and a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher to prevent sun damage, premature aging, uneven pigmentation, and skin cancer.
A retinoid at night to improve acne, fine lines, discoloration, and skin texture. Retinol is available over the counter, while a medical provider can prescribe stronger retinoids when appropriate.
Vitamin C in the morning to provide antioxidant protection, brighten uneven pigmentation, and support collagen.
A medical provider trained in dermatology can diagnose skin conditions and prescribe appropriate medication at an adequate strength when needed.
Healthy skin is built through consistency, appropriate treatment, and good medical guidance.
